The project "Identification, assessment and recognition of informally acquired competences", short IBAK, is completed. This project site www.competences.info is still open to anyone interested, although it will be no longer updated.

The identification, assessment and recognition of informally acquired skills - for us these are still hot items. Get an updated overview on methods and instruments in our IBAK database on our homepage www.heurekanet.de or news from our BMBF project "KomBiA“. We look forward to your visit.

The IBAK project is completed, but the educational challenge remains

After two years of intensive work, the project IBAK ends on 30th November 2010.

A database in German and English with about 100 procedures and instruments of idenfication, assessment and validation of informal acquired competences is one of the main and of this period reaching results of this European project. The variety of procedures and the developments in the participating countries became clear in the regional, national and international methods workshops: They range from established methods of recognition of informally acquired competences (France, Netherlands, Switzerland) over a rich market of different methods and Instruments for identification and assessment (Germany, Lithuania, Austria), up to first methodological approaches (Slovakia).
The embedded database on this website (SEARCH), with its user-friendly search function and multi-lingual messages from a place like this rich testimony.

But, after the project is before the project.
There still is much to be done, for the one to achive a European area of lifelong learning with a recognition of informally acquired competences, for the others to find and develop processes and methods in the context of scarce resources and different target groups .

You can find a short text about the project results here and a presentation here.
